Residents voice concerns over 15th street widening project at Beaufort community meeting

While community members agree improvements need to be made, people like Ellen Brabo oppose the current plan.

Unfortunately, the design the NCDOT has proposed, is a superstreet highway, looking to put in a residential corridor in the middle of town and that's not really the right used case for that road.

Brabo tells me she started the 15th Street Coalition and has gotten nearly 600 signatures for a petition to stop the project.

To see 600 residents come together to sign a petition in opposition to something, really says a lot in a small town, we are clearly paying attention, we are very concerned, and we care about what happens in our community, which is a very beautiful thing to have in todays day in age.
